I expected some kind of betrayal, but what I didn’t expect was to have almost everyone decide to oppose the Nephilim. It feels right to return to the single character format at least once during the last few missions though.

MC is not best suited for solo combat, so let the Hand of Zanatus and Beatrix lead way here (particularly if you gave her the bloodlust trait). Stefan should be able to one shot many of the enemies as well with his powerup and Diana can survive for ages with her hp pool. Keep everyone healed up using MC and push forward to the teleporter where everyone will face off against their own foe. Whoever gets through first can take on Lysander.

Interlude

MC gets a third class change and some huge stat boosts to go along with it. The new skill, Finish the Millenium War, gives +20!! capacity and heals all squads within 3 squares as well as boosting their morale.

Zelos and Kuroda both join up and will become two of your strongest characters. Likely only Beatrix can rival Zelos and Kuroda will outclass Stefan as a backstabber. Zelos will anchor a second flying squad for me and I’ll slot Kuroda somewhere into a light infantry squad.

This is the final chance to modify your army, so try all those other combinations you were curious about and consult squad building for suggestions. The market now has infinite items too! As soon as you buy something it will randomly restock with something else within the same category. So you can buy a bunch of stat ups, arena tokens, affinity change items, etc.

I used my accrued arena tokens, which netted me a huge sum of gold and advanced most of my units to level 50. That’s definitely not required for the last battle, but I wanted to experiment with my squads a bit more. I passed around the Skull of Rowdain to get a little extra gold and was amused with it on my cannon squad. Even with the morale penalty the cannons mowed down all but the bulkiest of targets and then ‘captured’ them. It worked well, but to a lesser a degree, on raider squads.

You don’t need a specific set of squads or traits for the last stage, but resistance to dark magic can help and the Skull of Rowdain will be useless against the final foes. Squads typically try to separate damage into multiple attack waves, but that will be less important in the final stage. I also recommend saving some money for revives.
