Chapter 18: Homecoming

Objective: Save Liberty

The entire right side of the map is physical attackers, while the left is predominantly magical. The rogues on the right have insane dodge, as does one mage in the middle, but these foes don’t have the highest damage potential. You will want a specific accuracy strategy here or just leave some units to keep them occupied (free xp!) and keep going. If you do fight through the right, ensure you take out the archers on the first turn or have very bulky enemy phase units up front.

Liberty can be moved down and to the right & the two enemies near her will not chase out of their attacking range. This ramps down the pressure quite a bit and enables slower strategies for killing the dodgy foes.

There are many class & aspect specific ways to guarantee hits or boost accuracy, but here’s a few that I found useful here:

• Inquisitor: Heal in player phase to double their accuracy & position such that the rogues have to attack them. The accuracy boost is so large that you will reach 100% even with power weapons.
• Sniper: Don’t move and you will receive a 35% bonus to accuracy. For example, 200 to 270 accuracy against 190 dodge would take you from roughly 10% hit rate to 80% hit rate!
• Manos’s Fury: Grants 50% hit rate and 50% power. Usually the 50% hit rate is bad, but it’ll be 49% higher than some of your units here!
• Blade Dancer: Grants 100% hit rate when below 40% max hp. This works with Manos’s Fury to give you 50% power bonus while overriding the 50% hit rate.
• Slayer: Grants 100% hit rate when the enemy is below 40% max hp. Also works with Manos’s Fury
• Sloane: Her personal skill grants +15% hit rate in melee range. This stacks with Manos’s Fury to give 65% hit rate in melee range. She’s not very sturdy against physical damage though, so be careful.
• Orion’s Pursuit: Grants a flat 15% hit rate bonus.
• Ziegrich’s Luminance: Half of mastery is added to accuracy
